Gottman-informed techniques, helping partners rebuild trust, enhance communication, and foster emotional connection. When working with children, she incorporates play-based interventions to support emotional expression and healthy development in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

Miya is committed to practicing with multicultural humility and believes that every client’s culture, identity, and lived experience should be recognized, valued, and integrated into the therapeutic process. She sees therapy as a collaborative journey where authenticity, compassion, and empowerment pave the way toward healing.

Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Miya now lives in Houston, Texas. She earned her Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University and holds additional degrees in Applied Science and the Arts.
