Nakisha Wallace 

Nakisha is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a strong foundation in mental health, currently serving at the VA hospital. Her journey in behavioral health began in 2001 as a Mental Health Specialist at a behavioral treatment center for children and adolescents aged 7 to 18, operated by Catholic Charities of New Orleans. This formative experience ignited her passion for mental health and laid the groundwork for a career devoted to compassionate, evidence-based care. She later expanded her clinical experience to include correctional nursing, further deepening her expertise in working with diverse and high-need populations.

Nakisha earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Committed to professional growth and leadership in the field, she went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management. Driven by her longstanding interest in mental health treatment and a desire to deliver more comprehensive care, she is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Nakisha’s clinical vision is rooted in holistic care—integrating both therapy and medication management to address the full spectrum of psychiatric needs. She is passionate about building meaningful, ongoing relationships with her patients and making a lasting impact on their mental health and overall well-being.
